Insurance Plans We Accept

We participate with many major insurance plans and regularly work with a wide range of commercial insurance carriers, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans.

Coverage may vary by plan and provider, so we encourage patients to verify participation and benefits prior to their appointment.

Questions to confirm with your insurance plan may include:

  • Is Nephrology Assoc. of Tidewater in-network for my plan?
  • Does my visit require a referral or authorization?
  • What specialist copay or deductible may apply?
  • Are lab services or diagnostic studies covered separately?

Referrals & Authorizations

Some insurance plans require referrals or prior authorizations before specialty visits or certain services.

Depending on your plan, this may apply to:

  • New patient consultations
  • Diagnostic testing
  • Procedures
  • Specialty treatments
  • Certain infusion or medication services

Our staff works closely with referring providers and payers to help coordinate these requirements whenever possible.

Please notify our office as soon as possible if your insurance coverage changes. Providing updated insurance information before your appointment helps prevent delays in care and billing issues.

If you have questions about a bill, our billing team is happy to assist you. Please contact our billing office and a member of our billing department will help review your account and answer any questions you may have.
